Brass framed prototype mechanism model, 2.625” barrel, 6.375 overall, brass frame is 5” overall with Certificate of Authenticity from Little John Gangel dated May 29, 1997, stating “. . . formerly in the ConnecticutState Library collection and part of a group of prototypes and firearms traded by the museum to well-known California historian R. L. Wilson and Ted Hutchinson. This piece, along with other Colt memorabilia whichincluded pieces of Colt’s fence and items belonging to Thuer who invented the Thuer conversion and Colt’s 3rd Model derringer, were auctioned by us sometime in the early 1980’s”.
