18AR-3 PAIR OF BOSS SHOTGUNSPair of “Boss & Co., London” side lock exposed hammer and under lever Damascus barrel sporting shotguns, S/N 1080 & 1081 also numbered 1 and 2 on the tangs indicating a true pair. Owners plaques show engravedcrest possibly Royal (Serpent with septer in castle turret with 3 pointed crown over cross and on bar).The pair are in 10GA and measure 45 ¾” overall with 29 ½” barrels and 14 ¼” from front trigger to the butt plate. Bestquality scroll engraved locks with dogs on the trigger guards. Nicely checkered burl wood stocks with fancy engraved butt showing game birds. Showing fine quality English refurbish with 90% plus tobacco brown ondamascened barrels, 50%-60% light original case colors, 95% plus refurbished blue on the trigger guards and butt plates. Very good and bright bores with good actions and tight lock up. Boss and Purdey considered “TheBest” of best London makers but pairs of Boss guns are SUPER RARE.
