Colt Single Action Army Sheriff’s Model revolver in .45 L.C. caliber with a 4” barrel, nickel finish, rubber eagle grips, shipped to Donlay & Geisler, Houston, Texas, and October 1, 1893. The remarks states Lot Title another revolver with same number is recorded. All features confirmed by factory letter except grips not listed. A period carved western holster for this Colt and constable badge are included. Documentation Lot Title letter from John Damon former Judge of Brazoria, Texas states “145344 had been in Wharton, Texas in a collection for 40 years before 2003”. The judge recants that this pistol belonged to the sheriff of Wharton Lot Title known as “Buckshot lane”. A research folder on the sheriff is included and other recollections about Texas are made in the well written document. Also formerly Joe Kiser (1st president of Colt collector’s Lot Title Association Collection). The condition of the Sheriffs model remains in good condition with gray patina finish and scattered light to moderate pitting. The markings are visible but light on the bottom line of the address.
