18EMY-16 COLT U.S. ARMY MDL 1911 #315566U.S. Property-marked Colt Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol, .45 caliber, blued finish, checkered wood grips, two-tone magazine, S/N 315566, overall good condition with grey patina and some scattered bluedfinish; crisp action and markings, some scattered erosion, scattered pitting in bore, overall good grips. Accompanied by a hand signed letter from John P. Parker indicating gun was issued to Officer E. Asa Parker(1889-1981) (John’s grandfather) stating Asa was a member of the U.S. Army’s 26th Infantry (“Yankee Division”) and served in combat during WW I at the Battle of Saint Mihiel and the Battle of the Argonne Forest.(C&R/PPT).
