Desirable Colt Police Positive DA revolver, .38 Special caliber, 4” barrel, high polish blued finish, checkered hard rubber grips, butt strap marked “W.F. & Co.”, S/N 130630; overall very good + condition displayingmajority of original finish, some scattered small spots of erosion and losses primarily to top left side of barrel, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings and very good grips overall. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming caliber, barrel length, finish, type of stocks “Not Listed”, factory engraved “W.F. & Co.” on butt of revolver, shipped to Wells Fargo and Co. c/o A. G. Brandenburg, General Supply Agent, New York,N.Y. on April 3, 1916, 36 guns in shipment. Also including an e-mail dated March 19, 2015, indicating a statement from Greg Beseth of Historical Militaria Ltd. that this gun was presented to and owned by the Presidentand CEO of Railway Express, Tom Kole, in 1971 and that Railway Express ceased operations in 1975.
