WHAT: 10 Day Spring Brown Bear Hunt

WHERE: Western Alaska Range

WHEN: Spring, 2019 or 2020

TERMS: This wonderful donation is a ten-day guided rifle hunt for Brown Bear in the Western Alaska Range. The donation comes from Master Guide Mike Bowden who has guided Alaska for over 45 years and had a career as an Alaska Fish and Wildlife Officer. You will take a charter flight to the remote lodge which will serve as your base camp for the hunt. Usually, Spring Brown Bear and Grizzly hunts are conducted out of the comfortable lodge. Using it as a base camp, you may snow machine seven miles up the ridge above the tree line where you can easily view bears leaving their dens. The glassing is fantastic. On some hunts you could camp out above the tree line to maximize your glassing opportunities to tag your trophy. The Alaskan Brown Bear is usually considered the world’s foremost trophy when it comes to North American dangerous game. The largest predatory mammal on the North American continent, Western Alaskan Range bears can tip the scale at over 1200 pounds and stand nine feet tall. Brown Bear and Grizzly populations are stable in the area and have provided consistently good hunting for many years. Air charter runs approximately $1500. Not included are hunting and fishing licenses and tags, hotel in anchorage, and tips. The industry standard for a guide after a job well done is around $100 per day (at your discretion).
