Located adjacent to Granite Creek in the Gros Ventre Wilderness Area, within the Bridger-Teton National Forest, this package includes a cabin for 3 nights and includes 9 meals for two persons. A limited number of cabins at the school are made available during the summer. 2017 dates are June 10 – August 17. 2018 dates are also availible.
Arrangements can be made by the buyer to extend the package for
additional days. The buyer needs to contact the Education Department (call 520.620.1220 ext 231 ) to confirm availability of the days and to place a reservation.
The clean, comfortable cabins with private shower are adjacent to
Granite Creek which provides ample habitat for cut throat trout.
In addition to fishing opportunities in Granite Creek, a few miles
downstream is the Hoback River which joins the Snake River at Hoback
Junction. There is fantastic hiking to some of the states pristine alpine lakes or just spend a relaxing half hour or so soaking in the Granite Hot Springs, 2 miles north of the AWLS school.
Surrounded by the beauty of the Gros Ventre Wilderness area within
Bridger-Teton National Forest, the AWLS site at 7,000 feet elevation is only
33 miles southeast of Jackson, Wyoming. Jackson, rich in frontier history still enjoys a western home town flavor with bi-weekly rodeos, numerous wildlife art galleries, fine restaurants, trail rides and both scenic and white water raft trips on the Snake River. The location is an ideal vacation hub for visiting either Teton or Yellowstone National Park.
