and case hardened finish, wood grips, S/N 133660 (matching visible numbers), R.A.C. inspected; in overall very good to fine condition displaying ample areas of original blue to barrel assembly and flutes of cylinder, traces of original case colors in protected areas of frame, near fine bore, crisp action, sharp markings, good grips with two visible inspector cartouches; accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming caliber, finish and grips, barrel length “Not listed”; sold to U.S. Gov’t and delivered to the Gov’t Inspector at the Colt Plant on July 3, 1890, in shipment of 150 guns. Also accompanying this lot is a copy of a John A. Kopec letter dated Nov. 25, 1989, indicating, among other notations, that this gun was manufactured in the last batch of Cavalry revolvers purchased by the U.S. Ordnance Dept.
