Five Day 1x1 Reg Stag Hunt in New Zealand
Chris and Peg Bilkey, of Track and Trail Safaris has come up with a 5 day all inclusive New Zealand Red Stag hunt.The hunt includes lodging and meals, for 1 hunter and 1 non-hunter, plus the trophy fee for a Red Stag scoring up to 320 SCI points.
The hunt will be scheduled for open dates in 2019. Dates to be worked out with Chris and Peg, depending on what other animals
you may want. The New Zealand roar is an awesome experience,
with the best time for the stags being March and April, but they can also be successfully hunted from February to August. The best time for Tahr is April to August, when they have their winter coats.
For Chamois, the rut is from mid April to June. Ram and Goat can be hunted year round, as can the Tahr and Chamois, as these horned animals keep their horns year round.
The non-hunter may hunt if they choose, and you can upgrade to include all that Chris offers, including Tahr, Chamois, Fallow deer,
Sambar, Sika, Whitetail, and even ducks, geese and swans, fromthe regular published pricelist. You may also want to upgrade your Stag to one of the monsters that New Zealand is famous for. I’m sure Chris can arrange a wallaby, rabbit or possum shoot, to help with the over population of these species. With no pedators in New Zealand, the rough species breed like.....rabbits. Chris utilizes
the 4WD tracks to access the mountains, then hunt by extensive glassing, to locate and assess the trophy quality, before the final
approach on foot is planned.
You will be staying at Pukeko house, enjoy Peggy’s home cooked
meals, and relaxing around the fire after a great day afield. Chris
and Peg have been hunting here for over 20 years, and you will not be dissapointed if you are the high bidder. You will be picked up once you arrive in Christchurch, New ZeaLand, which is the main airport of the south island, by Tracks and Trails safaris and whisked away to Geraldine, NZ to start your hunt.
New Zealand is one of the most hunter friendly countries on
the planet. Importing your rifle into New Zealand is very simple,
and can be done before hand online, or at the airport when you arrive. The scenery in New Zealand, especially the south island,
is totally awesome. You’ll have a blast in New Zealand with the Bilkey’s, so bid this up, clean your boots, and get ready for a Stag hunt of a lifetime.

1. Upgrading your hunt, while not required, is certainly appreciated by our donors. If you do not want to add another animal, consider bringing along a friend. This really helps out these outfitters and hunting companies that are trying to help us! With few exceptions, these donors are not wealthy philanthropists, but rather they donate to help wildlife, ensure the future of our sport, and generate new business for themselves. Please do what you can to help!
2. We do our best to solicit donated hunts only from competent outfitters. However, we do not guarantee the quality or success of any hunt purchased at this auction. All of this said, it is important to note that hunts purchased at our auction generally go very well, with both the donor and the buyer being well satisfied. Certain trips such as mountain hunts or spot and stalk hunts require a high level of physical fitness to maximize the opportunity for success. Other trips, such as game ranch hunts, are not physically demanding.
