Large framed and matted print of World War II US Eighth Air Force aircraft. The piece, title, “Lest We Forget”, is a series of seven different individual depictions with an inscription from the artist. The aircraftshown include; the B-17, B-24 and B-26 bombers, signed by pilots of each aircraft. Additionally, the P-51, P-47 and P-38 fighter planes are depicted signed by pilots who flew these planes. The central print shows a young boy in an English churchyard watching a modern F-111 fighter jet flying low representing the contributions of the Eighth US Air Force in WWII. The print, from the Bill Bettis Nieuport 17 Restaurantcollection, is inscribed by the artist, Bill Phillips to Mr. Bettis and is also signed by General Curtis LeMay. Est.: $125-$250.
