Rare and desirable Colt 1st Model Dragoon 2nd U.S. contract or so called “Fluck” variation, S/N 2681. This 2nd contract remains in exceptional original condition showing 60%-80% original scene withwell-defined figures along with U.S.M.R. and Colts patent fully visible on the cylinder. The bow of the trigger guard shows “P” inspection and “P” also on the backstrap beneath hammer slot and also on the barrellug above the wedge screw by flat of top edge. The rammer is unnumbered with assembly #75 above ramrod well. The ramrod has been broken and restored expertly. The edges are sharp and crisp with traces of blue and graycase hardening within a light natural patina. Sharp address and patent marking at the center of the frame with U.S. grips in very good condition showing a chip at the inside right toe and shows outline of cartouches and partial letters on both grips. All matching visible serial numbers and crisp overall. In the top surviving specimens of a rare and hard used martial Colt. (Antique) Est.: $20,000-$40,000
