Alpine Chamois in Slovenia

Slovenia is one of the less know destinations for Alpine chamois and Alpine ibex hunts in Europe. Bordering in the west with Italy and in the north with Austria, it has the same Alpine mountain range and hunting conditions as these two countries. Lodging and services are at a very good level, making the hunt suitable for non-hunting companions and Ljubljana airport is connected with daily flights with most European capitals.

Alpine chamois hunts are organized in the Slovenian Alps, approximately 100 km from Ljubljana, where the hunter should fly to. The hunting season is from August 1 - January 31. The terrain is not excessively demanding, but depending on the exact period of the hunt, temperatures might be low. Success rate is high for the hunt. The hunt may also be upgraded to include the following game: European brown bear, Roe deer, Alpine ibex (number of licenses is very limited, but can be also arranged in Austria at 200km), Muflon sheep, Red Stag and Eurasian wild boar.

Lake Bled: Lake Bled is of mixed origin, glacial and tectonic, situated in a picturesque mountain environment, with a sole island in the middle of its waters. The island hosts several buildings amongst which the most famous is the pilgrimage church to the Assumption of Mary. The Bled castle overlooks the lake from the north shore. The small town of Bled is also situated in proximity of the lake. On the way you will pass through part of Triglav National Park.

Ljubljana: Ljubljana is the capital city of Slovenia and its economic, cultural and educational center. Settlements were present in the area since antiquity and it offers beautiful cityscapes with its squares and live streets to present day. The main sights include Ljubljana castle, the Town Hall, Ljubljana cathedral and the Skyscraper building.
