Early production lever action parts gun chambered in .44-40 Winchester, circa 1876. Features a 26" King's Improvement octagonal barrel, full-length tube magazine, ivory blade front sight, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, single set trigger, no dust cover, checkered hammer spur, replacement smooth walnut forend with metal cap and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent trapdoor buttplate. Includes a copy of the factory letter from the Cody Museum that confirms it's configuration as original with a July 12, 1876 ship date. Missing the carrier and possibly other parts. Rifle is primarily in-the-white with a browning patina. Mechanics are good, bore is very good+, and wood stocks are good with a small chip at the tip of the forend & small chips around the tang on the shoulder stock amongst normal blemishes. Condition is good+ as parts gun. ***Antique Firearm***
