William Phillips Framed art Last Chance
Anyone even remotely familiar with aviation art will recognize this artist. This particular piece was issued by Greenwich Workshop in June 1991 in an addition of only 1,000 signed and numbered prints. “Last Chance” sold out almost immediately and has been listed as hard to find ever since by secondary art outlets such as Rare Art Finder and Art USA. You will find high prices on this if you attempt to purchase it on the secondary market, and most of those high prices are for a print that is unframed. Quality framing is expensive and you will find this print is in a quality professional frame that ads significantly to its value. The original certificate of authenticity is attached to the back of the frame. Do not confuse this piece with a recently issued anniversary piece by the same title, printed on a different medium, which sells for significantly less money, also unframed. This is from the original limited edition of 1000 issued in 1991which is hard to find.

The artist, William Phillips, was a designated combat artist for the U.S. Navy, has 16 paintings hanging in the Royal Jordanian Air Force Museum, and has been honored by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum with a rare one man art show at its facility. He has also had his art chosen by the USPS for postage stamp issues in both 1997 and 2005. His resume is too lengthy to write here, but he is known as one of the very best aviation artists in the world.
