Here is an overview of the hunting seasons:

Our deer season opens August 1. The deer tend to be at high elevation that time of year. Luckily for us, Sitka Blacktail are the only big game in Alaska for which you can fly and shoot the same day. We have our own floatplane and can fly you to a remote mountain lake in the morning and transport your record buck back to the lodge that afternoon. The high population and easily navigable terrain make a guide unnecessary. August and September are peak times for silver and sockeye salmon on the freshwater and halibut, black bass, lingcod, yellow eye rockfish and crab on the saltwater.

October is our steelhead run on the Karluk River and the saltwater fishing continues to be spectacular. October also brings the opening of duck season. The duck hunting is guided, at no extra charge, and includes Harlequin, Barrow Golden-Eye, Scoters and Long-Tail (Old Squaw), among others. The deer tend to be at lower elevation, and we drop you off in prime locations using drop-ramp boats.

In November and December, the deer have migrated down to the beaches and the duck hunting just gets better and better. It is not peak fishing season, but we can still target the halibut. They tend to be deeper that time of year but still around! Black bass and crab are abundant.

At all times of the year, enjoy first class lodging and dining. We have a sauna, hot tub, kayaks, hiking, cooking classes, cannery tours, satellite TV and recently upgraded wifi. We have the plane, boats, guides and equipment to accommodate your wildest dreams!
