Pre-War Smith & Wesson Non-Registered Magnum Double Action Revolver, #61646, .357 mag. cal., 3.5'' barrel, blue finish, unnumbered factory checkered diamond walnut grips with bright medallions, adjustable rear sight, changeable ramp blade front sight, checkered topstrap and barrel rib, fully knurled hammerspur, with matching numbered cylinder and barrel. Shipped July 10, 1940, to Chief of Police James M. Flutz, Visalia, CA, with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. This revolver was ordered through the King Gunsight Co., San Francisco, CA, and then shipped to Chief Flutz. Letter verifies barrel length, finish, and grips. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 95% factory blue, with losses at muzzle, high edges of cylinder, micro-scratching to sideplate, and some thinning adjacent to cylinder latch. Strong front and back strap. Excellent grips, smooth crisp action, mirror bright bore. Est.: $3,500-$5,000. (C&R/PPT)
