MODEL 1917 BOLT ACTION RIFLES. 1) ITALIAN CARCANO CALVARY CARBINE. Cal. 6.5 Carcano. S# XU1475. Bbl. 17.75". Italian cavalry carbine w/ folding bayonet. Receiver is unmarked. Bbl. is marked on top “F.N.A. BRESCIA 42-XX”. Turned down bolt handle. Rear sight graduated to 1500m. Blade front sight. Folding spike bayonet w/ 14.75". Hardwood stock set w/ provision for side sling. Trap buttplate contains 2 cleaning rod sections. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear, staining & scratches. Metal retains 70% blue w/ thinning, wear & scattered spots of light oxidation. Near excellent shiny bore. (20-1605/RW). CURIO. 2) SPORTERIZED MODEL 1917 CUSTOM SPORT ARM. Cal. 30-06. S# 1282578. Bbl. 24". Model 1917 rifle modified to sporter by removing rear sight & milling receiver bridge flat. Bbl. shortened to 24". Rifle fitted w/ Redfield 1 piece scope base & 4x32 Monoscope. Telescopic sight. Walnut sporting stock w/ cheekpiece, Monte Carlo comb, black forend tip & grip cap w/ white spaces & ventilated recoil pad. Trigger guard has been straightened. Bolt has been plated bright. CONDITION: stock has thin finish w/ light wear & handling marks throughout. Buttpad installation shows amateur gunsmith workmanship. Metal has blued receiver. Original finish bbl. turning gray w/ light wear & scratches. Sling loop on lower band has been dented & flattened. Very good, shiny 2 groove replacement bore. (20-1611/RW) MODERN. 3) SPORTERIZED MODEL 1917 BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1316143. Bbl. 26", marked behind front sight “E”, flaming bomb & “11-18”. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1600yds. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Upper band, handguard ring & lower band are present. Sling swivel, butt swivel & lower band are not present. Issue stock has been cut underneath lower band. Handguards are not present. Stock has been heavily modified in butt area in attempted sporterization. Stock is unmarked & has little finish. Metal has 60% thinning original blue, turning gray w/ spots of light oxidation & pitting. Bolt & safety are marked “E”. CONDITION: stock has wear, staining, dents & scratches. Metal has dark appearance turning gray & patina. Fair, worn dark bore. (20-1612/RW). MODERN. $300-500.
