1 of 10 CASPIAN ARMS / JENKINS MODEL 1911 A2 AMU

INFLUENCED SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# USPT13. Bbl. 5" throated match quality and match fitted. Mfg. Jan. 26, 2007 as standard Government Model frame by Caspian and shipped Feb. 8, 2007 to noted AMU associated pistolsmith, Charles Jenkins of Vero Beach, FL. Per Delta request of 2004 five different pistols assembled using S# USPT1 to USPT5. The purpose was to create the best off the shelf pistol possible. They were used in Iraq for approximately 18 months; 2004-2006. Upon return they were evaluated and new specs created for continuation but no contract came about. Jenkins secured permission to use the specs and continue the S#s limiting production to just 10 pieces; S# USPT6 to USPT15. Most innovative feature is the proprietary black finish on stainless from Ion Bond that was developed and frequently used by NASA. The finish is the most durable possible and requires no lubrication. Right side of accessory rail dust cover marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY"; left side has "MODEL OF 1911A2 U.S. ARMY". The 10 pistols were built using various manufacturers' parts, but some that were noted are Bob Grider square faced medium length trigger and slide stop with 2 outer edge longitudinal grooves. Jenkins stated thumb safeties were Ed Brown ambidextrous models yet this one is RH only. Internal components were also proprietary finished plus spring guide has Gold Cup style rounded front. Novak dovetailed rear sight with Tritium Inserts and screw adjustable elevation; drift adjustable windage. Trijicon square faced front sight. Slide has slanted square cut cocking grooves at front and rear plus flared and lowered ejection port. Finely checkered front strap plus Smith and Alexander mainspring housing with attached flared magwell. Skeletonized and narrowed hammer plus beavertail grip safety with memory pad. Slightly extended mag release matching relief cut into black checkered G10 grips. MAGS: similarly finished Shooting Star 7 rd. mag. with "S" on bottom of front lip indicating stainless along with stamped "14" indicating for pistol USPT14. Shooting Star marked stainless follower. CONDITION: all aspects near excellent including bore and grips. Velvety smooth tight functioning. One small flaw: missing horizontal ejector retaining pin. (22-4383/NW). MODERN. $2,500-4,000.
