The Javier Artee family is proud to continue our strong partnership with the Wild Sheep Foundation in restoring free-ranging desert bighorn sheep to historic habitat within Sonora, Mexico. Established in 2017, Sierra El Alamo spans over 80,000 acres, and is located approximately 160 miles south of Tucson, AZ, 180 miles north of Hermosillo, and 30 miles east of the Sea of Cortez. The bighorn population is strong and growing. Desert bighorn sheep hunting was reinstated within the area in 2017 following a 12-year prohibition and since then, only 3 desert bighorns have been harvested, with all 3 exceeding 170+! Only 1 tag will be offered for the 2021-2022 season.

Proceeds from the sale of this tag will be dedicated to the Sierra El Alamo Bighorn Sheep Program for on-the-ground projects including translocations, baseline health assessments, water developments and other habitat improvements within and adjacent to the newly-established area, and other WSF conservation projects. This tag provides the opportunity for 1 lucky bidder to hunt for 1 free-ranging desert bighorn ram in the beautiful mountains of Sonora, Mexico. The 10-day hunt will occur during season 2021-2022 (December-March), with lodging, meals, ground transportation from/to Hermosillo International Airport/Sierra El Alamo, and guides and translator services provided.

The hunter will be responsible for air transportation to and from Hermosillo, Mexico, hunt documentation, CITES Permit, Gun Permit for Mexico, gratuities for guides, exportation and shipment fees to U.S.A, Canada or Europe. Additional hunters/non-hunting companions are welcome at current rates. Over the last two years 100 desert bighorns have been successfully transplanted to Sierra El Alamo, with an additional translocation of 50 animals planned for this year. Thank you for your continued support in putting and keeping free-ranging desert bighorn sheep in the mountains of Sonora, Mexico!
