Donation: Russia’s Sajan Mountain range greatly resembles the northern Rocky Mountains in northwest Montana and southeast British Columbia. Ideal habitat for a variety of game, its mountains and basins contain good numbers of Siberian ibex, Maral stag, Siberian grizzly, and Siberian Roe buck. Enjoy a 14-day hunt for these great species! Trophy fees are not included (ibex-$2,800, brown bear-$3,000, Maral stag-$3,500, and Siberian Roe deer - $1,500).
Dates: Hunting dates are from Mid-September - October 1st with weather conditions identical to Montana at this time of year. Hunters fly commercial into Abakan via Moscow, then travel three hours by car to the reservoir, then by boat another 8-10 hours to base camp.
Additional hunters: Welcome for $6,500 plus trophy fees
Additional non-hunters: Contact outfitter.
Amenities included: Included in this hunt is transportation to and from the hunting area. Export license for trophy/CITES certificate, import license for hunting rifles, visa, food and lodging.
Amenities not included: Not included is airfare to and from Moscow. Gratuities, hotel, visas, overweight baggage and trophy fees.
Accommodations: This hunt is unique as large boats are used for hunting access from a very large reservoir on the Jenisej River. Hunters hunt on foot from the boat or hike to overnight spike camps in alpine basins. Each hunter has his own guide.
Special note: In 1991 the “New Russia” was opening its Iron Curtain to the western world. Young Ansten Ostbye, sportsman from Norway, began visiting this vast region in search of good hunting opportunities for himself and quickly recognized the great opportunities for a quality outfitting business and Ostbyes Hunting Tours was born. Jack Atcheson was introduced to Ansten in 1999. Since that time, over 100 Atcheson clients have experienced his VIP hunts and returned home safely with world class trophies and hunting experiences. Let us introduce you to Ansten’s famous smile and great hunting opportunities!
Value: $6,500.
