CANNONS. This group of cannons represents examples from the mid 1800s to present day. A wide representation of sizes & styles w/ some being operative & others purely decorative. 1) Iron tube, iron & wood carriage & iron wheels. 17” Overall w/ a 7 1/2” tube. 7 3/4" Spoked wheels. Cannon appears able to fire a projectile. 2) Brass tube, iron & wood carriage, iron & wood wheels. 15 1/2" Overall w/ an 8 1/2" tube. 6 1/2" Spoked wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 3) Brass tube, iron carriage, iron wheels. 8 1/4" Overall w/ a 5 1/4" tube. 3 3/8" Spoked wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 4) Brass tube, wooden naval carriage, wood wheels. 11" Overall w/ a 10 1/2" tube. Solid wooden wheels. Cannon appears able to fire a projectile. 5) Brass tube, iron carriage, iron wheels. 8 1/2" Overall w/ a 5 1/4" tube. 3 1/2” Spoked wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 6) Brass tube, wooden naval carriage, wooden wheels. 6 3/4" Overall w/ a 6" tube. Solid wooden wheels. This cannon has a tag that states it is a model of a cannon used on the ship Royal George that was sunk in 1840. Cannon does not appear functional. 7) Brass tube, wooden carriage, brass & wood wheels. 7 3/4" Overall w/ a 3 1/4" tube. Brass cased wooden wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 8) Brass tube, iron carriage, iron wheels. 7 1/4" Overall w/ a 4" tube. 3” Spoked wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 9) Brass tube. 7 1/2" Overall. Bbl. has turned lineal decoration w/ approx. a 1/2" bore. Cannon bbl. appears able to fire a projectile. 10) Brass tube. 4 1/2" Overall. Bbl. has cast in floral decoration w/ approx. a 3/4" bore. Cannon bbl. appears able to fire a projectile. 11) Brass tube. 4 1/2" Overall w/ approximately a 1/4" bore. Cannon bbl. does not appear functional. 12) Brass tube, aluminum carriage on a wooden base. 8" Overall w/ a 6 1/2" tube. A stationary Coast Artillery type cannon. Cannon does not appear functional. 13) Brass tube, iron naval carriage, brass wheels. 5 1/4" Overall w/ a 5" tube. Solid brass wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 14) Brass tube, iron naval carriage, brass wheels. 5 1/4" Overall w/ a 5" tube. Solid brass wheels. Cannon does not appear functional. 15) White metal tube, carriage & wheels. 3" Overall w/ a 2 3/4" tube. A toy from Colonial Williamsburg. 16) White metal tube & carriage, plastic wheels. 3" Overall w/ a 1 1/2" tube. A “Play Me” toy. 17) Brass tube, wooden carriage, iron wheels. 21 1/2" Overall w/ a 9 3/4" percussion tube. 7 1/2" Spoked wheels. Cannon appears able to fire a projectile by means of musket cap & percussion ignition system. Bore is approximately 3/4". CONDITION: as expected condition varies greatly. Most of the smaller & toy cannons show light wear. The larger signal & model cannons show wear but appear completely functional.
