17ELU-2 L.C. SMITH #13021L.C. Smith Crown Grade SxS Shotgun in 12GA with 30” barrels, factory vent rib, single trigger (marked hunter 1 trigger), auto ejectors, choked modified right barrel, and full left barrel, S/N 13021. The metalremains in very good plus condition showing 85%-95% original toning and thinning blue. The frame is crisp with well-defined engraving and 20%-40% case colors going to silvery gray patina. The action is tight. The stock is trap style with a beaver tail fore end and shows wear, repair and damage. The buttstock has been shortened to 13 ½” and a piece of wood and rubber recoil pad added to “stretch” to 14 ¾” to end of pad. The stockshows a loss underneath left lock plates and stress crack behind each lock plate. The fore end checkering is worn. The stock should be restored or replaced in our opinion. All in all a desirable Crown Grade with scarceconfigurations from a local family who purchased 2nd hand after WWII. The bores are bright and the barrels are in near fine condition.
