17FR-24 S&W #2954Smith and Wesson 1st Model Hand Ejector revolver, .44 S&W Special caliber, Serial #2954. The pistol is in fine overall condition with a 6 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 85% of its flaking blue finish with areas of loss along the barrel and at the rear of the frame. The pistol features a five screw frame and vivid case coloring of the hammer and trigger. The checkered wood grips are in verygood condition with small mars and storage wear noted. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings are sharp. The pistol includes a Smith and Wesson factory letter confirming all features andindicating the pistol was shipped to M.W. Robinson, New York City, NY, on May 29, 1912. Also known as the .44 New Century Triple Lock, 1st Model Hand Ejectors were introduced in 1908 and manufactured until1915.
