17KF-5 WINCHESTER 1885 #9948Winchester Hi-Wall rifle in .32-40 caliber with a 30” heavy #4 octagon barrel, S/N 9948. Special order adjustable set trigger, later king buck horn rear sight and large blade front sight added in original dove tails. The barrel shows six drill and tap holes for old style long target scope located on each side of the rear sight and 6” from muzzle. The barrel address is off set on the side flat instead of the top flat and this may indicate factory scoped (Not verified by records at this time). The has drifted to a silver gray patina. The stocks are lightly re-finished and the forend may be an excellent replacement as it is not matching to thebuttstock. The bore is at least very good plus with shiny strong rifling.
