18AL-66 PRESENTATION SWORDInscribed Civil War Presentation Officer’s sword and scabbard, marked on right side of brass scabbard throat “Presented to/Capt. G. W. McLearn/68th Regt. P. V./by his friends/Aug. 28, 1862”; in overall good tovery good condition with Clauberg etched blade including “One Flag, One Country” ribbon, fancy brass guard and pommel with scaled brass grip. Capt. George W. McLean joined his Pennsylvania Regiment for duty onJune 26, 1862 and was present thru Fredericksburg, the “Mud March”, Chancellorsville and then at the battle of Gettysburg where he was killed on July 2, 1863. Accompanying this lot is a file folder with Capt. McLearn’s military records, widow’s pension records and other articles on his Reg’t.
