18AP-34 PARTS TRAPDOORParts assembled period Springfield trapdoor percussion saddle rifle, .50-70 caliber. The rifle is in fair shape with a cut down 20” barrel with a post front and military tangent rear sights. The barrel has gone to a greypatina with light surface rust noted. The side plate shows old, toning case hardening and reads, “U.S. L.G. -&Y. Windsor-Vt. 1864”. The smooth wood stock has seen heavy use with numerous dents and compressionsconsistent with field use. The stock further features crude brass inlay, a barrel band and pewter fore end. The bore is fair, the action functions and the markings are legible. Est.: $200-$400.
