18AR-92 TOLEDO DAGGER19Th century fabrica Toledo dagger in armoral style with fancy etched decoration. Measures 7 ½” overall with a 4 ½” blade. Very nice patina blade with fancy etching and gold gilt. Good patina on scabbard and hilt. E.Zoloaga opened an armoury in 19th century in Toledo Spain where he recreated arms and armoral in ancient styles and decorated them similarly. He re-invented the gold damascening process and he worked under LePage and other masters before perfecting his craft. He won many exhibitions in Europe 1870-1900.
