Important Texas Ranger/Law Enforcement 1958 Commemorative Bronze Medal, approximately 2.5” in diameter; featured in an article in The West magazine of November 1966 on “Historical Badges of the Texas Rangers”.Quoting that article, “An interesting sidelight to the history of the Texas Ranger badge took place in 1958, when the Texas Law Enforcement Foundation at Fort Worth, Texas, held a fund-raising, $50-a-plate dinnerhonoring the Texas Rangers. Colonel Homer Garrison Jr., head of the Texas Rangers, ordered all the Rangers to attend. This is the only time in the long history of the Rangers that they have been all together inone place at the same time. The event was truly unique, and more than 600 people attended from all over the State of Texas and the nation-at $50 a head. A special medal was designed to commemorate the event and the medal is as interesting as the event itself. On one side is a replica of the original style Texas Ranger’s badge.
