18BJ-1 COLT 1877 #1957Early Colt Model 1877 ejectorless DA revolver, .38 caliber, 3.5” barrel with etched panel, blued and case hardened finish, checkered rosewood grips, S/N 1957, in overall very good + condition showing tracesof original blued finish in protected areas mixed with a pleasing brown patina to metal surfaces; very good to near fine bore, crisp action that is working at time of description, majority of etched panelremaining visible on left side of barrel, good grips showing even wear with scattered minor old mars and scratches from handling and storage. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming features except type ofstocks “Not Listed” (checkered rosewood were common on these early Model 1877s); shipped to B. Kittredge and Co., Cincinnati, Ohio on October 6, 1877, in a 25 gun shipment. A very presentable early “Lightning” revolvershipped during the first year of production. (Antique).
