18CA-15 CROOKES & CLARK BOWIE“Crookes and Clark” marked clipped point bowie knife made for Mexican or South American market. Measures 11 ½” with a 8” blade overall with heavy steel guard and mounts. Marine ivory grip of the period withgreat patina. The blade is etched with scrolls and Spanish legend “La Muerte Antes Que Las Dishonra”. Don’t die without honor. Very good plus condition with full dimensions and etching a little light. Great shape tothe blade simulated tortoise shell inlaid steel scabbard. Circa 1860s-1880s.
