Remington Double Derringer in .41 rim fire with rare side address and no extractor, S/N 2003. The address reads Remington “Ilion, N.Y., U.S.A.” on the left and “Elliot’s Patent, Dec 12, 1865” on the right (Upside Lot Title down). This is considered the best know original example of this rare variation and it shows the early factory style scroll. 95% plus original nickel with on small area of pitting on the right side of the barrel. Lot Title Sharp and crisp overall with excellent markings. The ivory grips show yellow patina and age crack on the left but generally very good and absolutely original tot his derringer. Excellent hinge and fine bores. In Lot Title period pipe casing. From the Dr. Rudy Johnson collection and pictured in the book he co-authored with Drummond. Includes deluxe copy of the book.
