Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .38-40 caliber with a 5 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, factory engraved, shipped to E.O. Hall & Son, Honolulu Territory of Hawaii, and Sept. 20, 1923 with 1 gun in Lot Title shipment. Factory letter mentions wood grips but the revolver shows deep seated medallion carved pearl, silver straps and lanyard ring in the butt along with “CS” incorporated into factory engraving on the barrel. The Lot Title shipping record may reveal these features which are all factory in our opinion. Our consignor’s estate provided Ray Biley’s inventory card that recants that he bought this pistol in 1947 from Chas. Nordherny who Lot Title was the Chief of police in Stickley, Illinois. Further he sold it in 1952 to buy his mother a washer and bought it back in 1975. Also states it was delivered to Chief Nordherney when stationed at Schofield Lot Title Barracks in Hawaii in 1923. This Colt shows 85%-95% original blue on the barrel and cylinder. 80%-90% original and colorful case hardening on the frame with slightly muted rainbow hues. The hammer shows 75%-85% case
