Colt 1861 Navy percussion revolver, .36 caliber, Serial #15431. The pistol is in good overall condition with a 7 ½” barrel. The metal surfaces have taken on a silver patina with areas of light to moderate Lot Title pitting at the muzzle and on the frame. The cylinder retains 60%-70% of the cylinder scene, five of the six safety pins and the engagement date is clearly legible. All visible serial numbers are matching, except Lot Title the wedge which is a period replacement and the hammer displays old, toned case hardening. The smooth wood grips are slightly undersized, but are in good condition with some small mars at the base. Lot Title The brass straps are a pleasing patina with the initials, “ALM” carved in the bottom. The action is crisp, functioning well at the time of description. The bore is fair, the action crisp and markings are legible on this Lot Title desirable Civil War era Colt circa 1863. Est.: $1,200-$2,400. (Antique).
