Desirable Colt Police Positive DA revolver, .38 Special caliber, 4” barrel, blued finish, checkered hard rubber grips, butt strap marked “W.F. & Co./A676”; overall good + condition with ample areas of muted originalblued finish to metal surfaces, good action and markings, fair + bore, right bottom rear area of grip shows an old small loss at strap retaining pin. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming caliber, barrellength, finish, type of stocks “Not Listed”, factory engraved “W.F. & Co./A676”, shipped c/o W.M. Ashton, New York, N.Y. on Feb. 26, 1910, 12 guns in shipment with special notation that Mr. Ashton was in charge of the Supply Dept. for Wells Fargo from 1888 until 1910. Also including an e-mail dated March 19, 2015, indicating a statement from Greg Beseth of Historical Militaria Ltd. that this gun was presented to and owned by thePresident and CEO of Railway Express, Tom Kole, in 1971 and that Railway Express ceased operations in 1975.
