Burnside Model of 1864 Saddle Ring percussion carbine, .54 caliber, Serial #2097. The carbine is in good overall condition with a 20” round barrel. The barrel is a mottled silver/brown patina with light surfaceerosion and marked, “CAST STEEL.” The receiver has gone to a mottled grey patina with the saddle ring intact and all visible serial numbers are matching. The smooth wood stock is in fair condition showing heavy use with mars and dents and a smooth steel butt plate. The bore in fair, the action functions and the markings are sharp on this Civil War era carbine. Est.: $800-$1,600. (Antique).
