American full stock “Kentucky” with fancy pierced patch box and many silver and brass inlays. The lock is stamped “Sweitzer” with a backwards Z. Measures 47 ¼” overall with a 33” medium weight octagon barrel of .44 caliber rifled. The stock is artificaly stripped using “Burnt Cord” method with most original reddish varnish remaining. Minor marks and normal gaining but stock is over cleaned and dents and dings repaired. The lock cocks but does not hold and needs repair. The name Sweitzer is well known to PA from Harrisburg west to Pittsburg but we are uncertain of exact maker as no first initial.
