US International Harvester M1 Garand rifle, .30 caliber, Serial #4657843. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 24” barrel. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their original military finish with wear at the muzzle and areas of light surface erosion. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with small mars and compressions consistent with service use. The barrel is marked, “LMR” and dated 7-53. The butt stock features multiple cartouches. The butt stock includes sling swivels, an OD green canvas sling and ends with a checkered steel butt plate with trap. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this desirable Garand by the IHC. The lot includes the CMP Certificate of Authenticity indicating the rifle was delivered on August 24, 2004. Est.: $800-$1,600. (C+R).
