Tranters patent double action percussion revolver agent marked “W.J. Kavanauh, Dame St., Dublin” in original oak case with accessories. Approximately .44 caliber with a 6 ¼” octagon barrel and extended spur through the trigger guard marked Tranters patent. The loading lever has been removed but otherwise good condition with 30%-50% original blue turning brown and normal aging. Some minor pitting and erosion. Action working. The grips are good with nice checkering. The case shows a small paper label on which is printed “T. Radiata, Alba 228” Very good original mold, good flask with dents, Joyce cap tin, screwdriver and associated European loading tool/rammer comber. The green velvet line case is good to very good overall with some minor imperfections. The exterior is oak with brass mounts and at least good. Type imported and used by both side in Civil War where the Irish Brigades were well recognized and distinguished. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
