276 PEDERSON & 30 LIGHT RIFLE.
BOXES ARE FULL 20 RD. UNLESS NOTED.
1-2) 276 PEDERSON. 2 BOXES of Frankford Arsenal 1929 dated ammo. In 1923, the US Army Ordnance department allowed John Pederson to develop this .276 cartridge for his semi automatic rifle. This ammo appears to be the T2 case, which was the final major change in 1929 before the end of the 276 cartridge program in 1932. These boxes are marked for "lot 1324 Cartridge Lot 21 / Drawings PD 42 and PC 50". CONDITION: one box in good overall condition w/ legible & sealed label w/ only holes in the bottom of box from tip of bullets. Second box in poor condition w/ large tears to box, one tear has tape repair. Label is fading & portions missing.
3) 30 LIGHT RIFLE. March 1950 dated sealed box of Frankford Arsenal ammo. In 1945, The Oednance Committee approved a study to replace the 30-06 & 30 Carbine cartridges w/ a shorter 30 cal cartridge. This 30 Light Rifle cartridge program eventually lead to the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge. This ammo uses the FAT 1E3 case w/ the FA T11 ball bullet. Other information includes "LOT FA X30-1378", "PRIMER REMINGTON No. 39", & "POWDER WESTERN 2615". Side of box has label w/ "FA 50 / NR 49 / BALL / FAX 30- / 1378 / INT / CASE / NATO", this label also includes notes & scratched out numbers. CONDITION: box is sealed & in good condition w/ light wear & stains. \
4) 7.62 NATO: 1 Box of Low-Recoil 82 gr. bullet "FAP 508". In 1966 Frankford Arsenal was developing a reduced recoil 7.62 NATO cartridge for burst fire function in the M14 family of rifles. This ammo was loaded in March & April of 1967. CONDITION: boxe in very good sealed condition.
5) 308 WIN. 1 BOX Western Match. In 1962, the US Rifle team participated in the World Championships in Cairo, Egypt & this ammo was provided by the Western Cartridge Co. using a 168 gr. open point expanding match bullet loading. CONDITION: very good sealed.
6) 30-06. Remington WWII ammo for British R.A.F. machine guns. Red label marked "CAL. .300 CARTRIDGE BALL" & "RED LABEL / SYNCHRONIZED GUNS R.A.F.". CONDITION: box in good appearance w/ missing pieces of label. Ammo appears very good as collectible.
7) 1 BOX Frankford Arsenal Dummy M1906 30-06 cartridge. Lot "F.A.S.-166". CONDITION: box is sealed w/ good exterior appearing having portions of front label missing & light puncture marks on bottom.
8) 1 BOX FRANKFORD ARSENAL MODEL OF 1919 GALLERY PRATICE CARTRIDGES. This ammo was used in indoor gallery shooting after WWII & featured a 140 gr. round nose lead bullet. This ammo was for 1903 & 1917 rifles. Markings include: "Loaded Dec. 8, 1919 Primer F.A. 70 / LOADING MACHINE 10 LOADER 38 PACKER 104" & " POWDER DUPONT No. 80-1409 CARTRIDGE LOT No. 23". CONDITION: Box in fair tattered condition w/ separations, stains & tearing of label. /
9) 1 BOX FRANKFORD ARSENAL APRIL 1898 30 ARMY (30-40 KRAG). CONDITION: good exterior appearance w/ mostly legible markings & a few stain spots. While label seal is intact, lid of box has large tears to on long & short sides.
10) 1 BOX OF FRANKFORD ARSENAL 45-70 CARBINE AMMO. This ammo appears to be a tinned brass w/ 450 gr. bullets w/out pasteboard wads. Box label is marked "20 / CARBINE BALL CARTRIDGES, RELOADING". CONDITION: box in good condition w/ missing portions of label & tear on right edge of lid.
11) 1 BOX FRANKFORD ARSENAL 45-70 RIFLE BALL TINNED BRASS SHELL CARTRIDGES. CONDITION: box in very good condition w/ sealed label. /
12) 1 SEALED BOX OF FRANKFORD ARSENAL SPENCER CARBINE. Blue labeled box indicated rim-primed cartridges. CONDITION: portions of blue label are missing w/ exterior in good condition showing some pencil markings while still being sealed.
13) 1 SEALED BOX US Cartridge Co. .30 MODEL of 1909 Blank Cartridges. For Model 1903 & 1917 rifles . CONDITION: box good overall w/ punctured hole on front of box, light fraying of label, lightly faded label & marks.
14) 1 BOX of Winchester CALIBER .30 BLANK MODEL 1909 FOR MODELS 1903 And 1917 RIFLES. CONDITION: Box in fair condition showing tape repairs throughout. Label mostly intact.
15-16) 1 SEALED & 1 ALMOST EMPTY BOXES OF EVANSVILLE ORDNANCE 45 M12 SHOT. These cartridges were meant for small game hunting & intended to be single loaded as cartridge will not feed into magazine.
17) 1 EMPTY REMINGTON 45 M15 SHOT BOX. CONDITION: box in very good condition.
18) 1 SEALED BOX OF WESTERN 45-70 BLANK LINE THROWING CARTRIDGES. Dated "5 24 43" & marked "Lot 6109" & "W-849-ORD-2901". CONDITION: very good w/ light marks.
19) 1 SEALED BOX OF MAY 8 1914 DATED FRANKFORD ARSENAL MODEL 1898. In 30-40 Krag, this was reloaded & repacked at Frankford Lot 6 of 1914. CONDITION: box in very good condition.
