1) M1852 NAVAL OFFICER. Overall length: 36". Blade length: 30 1/2". Blade is etched over 2/3 of its length & marked “RIDABOCK & CO NEW YORK N.Y”. Simulated white sharkskin grip. Gilded brass hilt. No scabbard. CONDITION: overall light wear. 2) M1852 NAVAL OFFICER. Overall length: 31 1/4". Blade length: 26". Blade is etched over 3/4 of its length & marked “E.A. ARMSTRONG MFG CO CHICAGO ILL”. White sharkskin grip. Gilded brass hilt. No scabbard. CONDITION: overall moderate to heavy wear. Blade shortened. 3) M1852 NAVAL OFFICER. Overall length: 38 1/4". Blade length: 32". Blade is etched over 2/3 of its length & marked “MADE IN USA”. Simulated white sharkskin grip. Gilded brass hilt. Gilded brass mounted leather covered iron scabbard. Overall length: 40". Blade length: 34". Blade is etched over 1/2 its length & marked, “RIDABOCK & CO NEW-YORK”. Horn grip w/ plated hilt. Scabbard engraved, “Lieut Charles Mehlin.”. CONDITION: sword shows light to moderate wear overall. Hilt is a bit bent. 7) MARINE MAMELUKE. Overall length: 38 1/2". Blade length: 30 1/4". Blade is etched over 2/3 of its length & marked “STAINLESS”. Classic mameluke grip/hilt of white composite material & gilded metal. Metal scabbard. CONDITION: very light wear. 8) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped leather grip. Gilded brass scabbard. This sword may date to the Civil War. CONDITION: blade has a dark gray patina. Hilt & scabbard show moderate to heavy wear. Scabbard is missing the drag & throat. 10) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 32 1/2". Blade length: 25 2/3". Plain unmarked blade. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped leather grip. Highly oxidized scabbard. 14) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 37". Blade length: 30". Blade is etched over 1/3 its length & marked, “SCHNITZLER A&A SOLINGEN”. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted plated scabbard. This sword may date to the Civil War. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray patina. Hilt & scabbard show light to moderate wear. 15) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 37 1/4". Blade length: 31". Blade is etched over 2/3 its length & marked, “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY SPRINGFIELD MASS, U.S.A.”. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark patina. Hilt retains nearly all of its gold plated finish. Grip shows light wear. 16) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 36". Blade length: 29". Blade is etched over 1/2 its length & does not appear to be maker marked. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has dark patina & light engraving. Hilt shows light wear but little finish. Scabbard shows moderate wear & is missing drag. 17) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 36". Blade length: 28 1/2". Blade is etched w/ the name, “M. Atwood French” along w/ foliate & patriotic motifs. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: light to moderate wear overall. 18) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 36 3/4". Blade length: 26". Blade is etched over 1/2 its length & marked, “HORSTMANN PHILADELPHIA”. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade is missing its tip & has a gray mottled patina. Hilt & scabbard show moderate wear. 19) M1860 STAFF & FIELD. Overall length: 36 1/2". Blade length: 28 3/4". Blade is etched over 1/2 its length & marked, “G.W. Simmons & Co Boston, Mass.”. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted metal scabbard. CONDITION: moderate wear overall. Blade is quite nice. (02-14354(7)/BF). $1,500-2,500.
