1902 VINTAGE 3E LC SMITH SXS SHOTGUN.

Cal. 12 GA., 2 5/8". S# 8549. Bbls. 30" w/ slightly raised matted rib marked w/ Hunter Arms & Fulton address on top of left bbl. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ S#, grade & proofs. Case hardened sidelock action features non-automatic safety, usual rotating bolt, early style bushed strikers & Hunter selective "one trigger". Action is engraved in usual pre-1913 Grade 3 style w/ sprays of simple scroll & line borders. Lock plates have oval vignettes of game birds w/ quail on left & snipe on right. “L. C. SMITH” is engraved on each lockplate. Triggerguard w/ scroll on bow has S# on tang. Long, capped pistol grip buttstock is of well marbeled European walnut & measures 14" over Galazan 1 1/2" thick red pad & 5/16" spacer (12 1/16" to end of wood). Trigger blade is in back position. Matching splinter ejector forend has J spring & secondary release w/ knurled button in guitar shaped steel escutcheon. MEASUREMENTS: BORE DIA. :Left .729. Right .727. BORE RESTRICTIONS: Left .040 Full. Right .038 Full. WALL THICKNESS: Left .038. Right .039. DAH: approx. 2 1/4". DAC: 1 1/2". WEIGHT: 8 lbs 6 oz. CONDITION: good, bbls. retaining most of an old reblack. Action w/ considerable cleaning is mostly silver gray. Stocks show considerable wear & many marks in what is possibly their original finish. Checkering considerably worn. There is a 1 1/2" stress crack at bottom rear of right lock plate. Bores are shiny. Action is tight. Trigger appears to work well, ejectors slightly out of time.
