19th century museum quality shield with elaborate battle scenes showing most silver and gilt finish on Elkington metal. Measures 21 ¾” across the center. The Victoria and Albert Museum among other institutions offered these reproductions off authentic treasures to students and collectors of arms more than 125 years ago.
