US Model 1884 Springfield single shot trapdoor rifle, .45 caliber, Serial #400759. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 32” barrel with a blade front and military tangent style rear sights. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their blue finish with some light surface erosion evident in areas. The side plate shows toned case hardening and is US marked with the eagle emblem. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with cartouches on the left side of the action and behind the trigger guard. The butt ends with a smooth steel butt plate. The bore is fair, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this desirable Springfield trapdoor. Est.: $400-$800. (Antique).
