Colt New Service Double Action revolver in .44-40 caliber with 4 ½” barrel, S/N 336452 and made 1933. “Piece parts” variation displayed at Buffalo Bill museum in Colt Collector’s displays and pictured in “Colt and Their Collectors”. This revolver shows 97%-99% original blue finish with minor evidence of firing and use. Slight losses to muzzle and edges but crisp overall with near excellent checkered wood medallion grips. Pristine interior with bright bore and tight action. Bright original polish on sides of hammer. Refer: Page 45 of New Service Revolvers by Bob Murphy (A.K.A. Gil Newton where 1932 “Piece parts” guns are discussed. Colt basically cut costs and used up parts during the depression. 44-40 is scarce in this era. (C&R/PPT) Est.: $2000-$4000
