Russian SVT-40 semi-automatic rifle, 7.62 x 54R caliber, Serial #4E2178. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 24” barrel with a hooded front and military tangent style rear sights. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their military finish with mars and thinning of finish on the barrel and mixed visible serial numbers. The receiver is marked with the Soviet Star and dated 1940. The smooth wood stock is in good condition showing heavy use with mars, dents and bruising. The butt stock has numerous cartouches and ends with a smooth steel butt plate. The bore is fair, the action crisp and markings are sharp on this desirable WWII era Soviet battle rifle. The lot includes one correct magazine. Est.: $800-$1,600. (C+R).
