Springfield Model 1816 .69 caliber flintlock musket dated 1817 at rear of lock. Very good original condition with sharp eagle and U.S. at the center of lock and good clear Springfield markings and date. Original flintlock with correct hammer and parts. The tang is dated 1818. “V.P. and eagle visible on breech. Some light to moderate pitting and cleaning to bright. The stock shows light refinishing with trace of marking or cartouche in belly of stock behind the trigger guard (Possibly “S” or 8). Small losses along the ramrod channel. Correct style ramrod included. Lock works well. The barrel measures 42”. Provenance: The estate of Michael Sorenson. (Antique) Est.: $1000-$2000
