Presentation or deluxe grade Maynard .50 caliber carbine fully and finely period panel scene engraved with deluxe checkered wood stock and many special ordered features, S/N 23177. The left side of the receiver shows a Civil War battle scene and the right shows a slightly different but similar scene. Finely cut screws with cross hatched hammer, silver bands and also engraved at the breech end of the barrel. Strong traces of case colors gone gray on hammer and lever. 90%-95% thinning gold on the frame and butt of correct and rich colors. Burl checkered stock is near fine. The barrel shows correct old color but refinished perfectly possibly at point of engraving. A really impressive Civil War carbine that must have been intended for a presentation or display.
