Merwin & Hulbert “Pocket Army” .44-40 caliber period N.Y. scroll style engraved and re-nickeled plated with pearl grips, S/N 1706. The frame markings are good and the finish is old with 95% remaining with somesmall areas of rust and erosion where nickel has flaked and metal was exposed. The areas of loss are small and mostly confined to the backstrap. The original grips are very good plus. The action is cocking but not lockingup. The bore is fair and shows wear. The barrel locks up tight on the frame. Finer original engraving than normally found. Western frontier era. Antique Est.: $3000-$6000
