German Mauser Gewehr 98 bolt action rifle, 8 x 57 caliber, Serial #5627d. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 29” barrel with a ramped blade and military tangent style rear sights. The metal surfaces havegone to a dark grey patina with light surface erosion evident. The front ring has a Turkish Crescent ahead of the standard Mauser markings and is dated 1918. All visible serial numbers are matching. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with mars and compressions consistent with service use. The ram rod, sling swivels and military style leather sling are all retained and the butt stock ends with a smooth steel butt plate.The bore is fair, the action functions and the markings are sharp on this WWI era Mauser. During the Holiday Season there are added surcharges for shipping therefore we will begin shipping for this auction January 4th. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs including packing, materials, shipping, 2% of invoice total for insurance, custom fee, duty fees, exporter fee etc. International shipments are sent to an exporter. All oversized, extremely heavy & extremely fragile items the buyer is responsible for contacting a third-party shipping company for shipment. We ship Federal Express; we cannot ship to PO Boxes. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
