Half stock heavy barrel percussion plains rifle attributed to the Hawken shop and illustrated in “Fifteen Years in the Hawken Lode” by John Baird Note: See Page 115 top illustration attributed to Jake Hawken’s first rifles. Brass mounts with single key and heavy octagon barrel of approximately .45 caliber rifled measuring 1 1/6” across the flats of muzzle. Double triggers. The metal shows dark patina with some light to moderate pitting and erosion. The wood shows some losses and large crack in the fore end that has been glued extending from front bank to trigger guard with other minor damage from use and frontier carry. Works well with buckhorn rear sight. An interesting rifle. Copy of book included. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000

During the Holiday Season there are added surcharges for shipping therefore we will begin shipping for this auction January 4th. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs including packing, materials, shipping, 2% of invoice total for insurance, custom fee, duty fees, exporter fee etc. International shipments are sent to an exporter. All oversized, extremely heavy & extremely fragile items the buyer is responsible for contacting a third-party shipping company for shipment. We ship Federal Express; we cannot ship to PO Boxes. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
